I started off my adult life in the army. During my 4 year spell with the army, I spent sixteen months in Northern Ireland for which I was honoured with a medal! I knew I needed a change in career, and decided to get in to hairdressing.
I was nearly twenty when I completed my training here at Alexander Hair and Beauty. If you asked me why did I go in to hairdressing from being in the army, I actually haven't a clue! I just had an interest and followed my instinct.
From working within a great salon and along side a great time, I do find myself rather competitive and I always try to ensure I better myself in my work each time, with each client.
Having completed my NVQ level 2 hairdressing I decided to enter some competitions – having got that competitive streak! I have previously entered "Newcomer of the year" category in the British Hairdressing Awards. I have also entered the L'Oreal Colour Trophy.
Alexander is a great inspiration to me and I have continued to learn a lot from watching him create new styles and images. Also seeing him work along side L'Oreal/Matrix educating others certainly gives me something to aim for!
Working within the salon and alongside my colleagues is an enjoyable experience. Work is not a chore! Coming to work every day, socialising with my work colleagues, talking to my clients, ensuring they are more than satisfied with their hairstyles and that they leave the salon happy is one of the best parts of the job!
